Module 1
Start out on your epic adventure with a gang of likeminded players. Choose your game, create your character, and enjoy the first campaign as a level 1 character learning the basics and getting to know your party as you explore a world of your own making. Sessions begin in January 2026! This is required for any other modules, we recommend starting here even with experienced players so they can help coach their peers to success.

-
Module 2
Flesh out your character and your role in the world, take on bigger challenges either through combat or narrative problems to expand your characters’ skills and level up your group. Step into the boots of the brave adventurers that came before you as you chart your own path across the universe. Module 1 is required to join and will begin in February 2026.

-
Module 3
An epic finale to the Game to Grow method. Engage with your group in campaigns that could determine the outcome of the state, the nation, even the world we live in. Teamwork is required to succeed against the forces of darkness, when it comes to fighting dragons it’s united we stand or divided we fall.

The Game to Grow Method
At its core…
All tabletop games create an environment of collaborative play where the rules, player experiences, and narratives unravel into unique stories. Using the Game to Grow method we foster participant growth by providing a peer learning environment where players are taught, prompted, encouraged, coached, and reinforced. This system was developed over the span of a decade by therapists working in schools, children’s hospitals, and counselor’s offices to help develop the three main dimensions of capacity building: Knowledge, Performance, and Fluency. Below are the five core Game to Grow developed “capabilities” we focus on to achieve that goal.
Regulation
Patience
Managing excitement and stress
Coping in social situations
Appropriate response to frustration
Perspective
Understanding complicated structures within other players and game invented characters (commonly known as NPCs)
Empathizing with others
Adjusting behavior based on relationships and environments
Collaboration
Group problem solving to achieve common goals
Sharing strategies and ideas
Communicate verbally while practicing reading body language, tone, and expressions
Planning
Cause and effect: How do my actions and behaviors impact the group and our mission?
Individual and group goal-setting and character growth
Adapting strategy for expected (and unexpected!) obstacles
Pretend Play
Imitation of real life scenarios
Creative tools to create alternate selves and worlds
Handle sarcasm, develop your wit, and banter with characters to make allies and gain key information
Meet Our Game Master
Caleb Akerstrom, TA-RPG, is a certified therapeutic game master, trained in the Game to Grow Method by the STAR institute. Having grown up as part of the disability community, he knows how hard it is for non typical teenagers to have a physical space to connect, especially in the modern day of video games and social media. Through providing an inclusive space for all to join and live out their fantasies he hopes to help young adults learn coping skills to manage the challenges and realities of adult life while building friendships that last far longer than sessions at the table.
